my favorite chocolate brownie cake!

by Debbie Brodsky on February 18, 2010

I resurrected an oldie this weekend to celebrate Valentine’s Day.  How could
I have lost touch with this really easy and delectable chocolate recipe?  Is it a cake
or a brownie?  You bake it and decide for yourself.  I can guarantee that it won’t
disappoint!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Butter and flour a 9 inch springform pan
or a heart shaped pan like the one I used for Valentine’s Day and set aside.

1 stick unsalted butter
1 cup semi-sweet choc. chips
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
1 pinch salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
1 11 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat (or in a glass bowl in
microwave for 30 seconds, then repeat as needed) remove and add
1 cup choc chips.  Set aside.  Beat eggs and sugar together for 3-5
minutes (will produce a wonderful, pale and creamy texture), add
salt and vanilla, then flour and package of choc chips.  Pour mixture
into prepared pan and bake for 35 minutes in middle of 350 degree
oven.  See how easy that is!  Remove from oven, let cool, or serve
warm with vanilla or coffee ice cream.  Yum!006
